Cannock Chase has always been a favourite place of mine to photograph, I grew up within a mile of where they sell the Christmas trees every year and I’ve been on countless walks there and when my photography bug came around 2005, it was the best place to go out and explore! When the opportunity came up to meet up with Lindsay & Dan on their pre-wedding shoot a few weeks ago, it was the perfect location! I knew all the best spots!
I love pre-wedding shoots as it’s such a good chance to meet up before the big day and get a bit of practice in! So many couples come to me saying either one, or both of them really don’t like having their photo taken and feel awkward in front of the camera. I pride myself on trying to relax my couples and putting them totally at ease, chatting, laughing, getting some natural shots where they both look totally at ease… we totally nailed it on this shoot!
The weather was perfect, with just the right amount of sun, perfect for an afternoon stroll and when Lindsay and Dan mentioned they would like to get a few shots with their little dog Groot to begin with, how could I resist?! he was a natural too!, so once the little chap had made his modelling debut, he needed a well deserved little lie down so we went off on our own, chatted about their wedding day and took a slow walk into the woods making use of the gorgeous natural light and backdrops that Cannock Chase has to offer.
Lindsay and Dan were naturals as you can see from the little snapshot below. Thinking about a pre/post wedding shoot? Or maybe a couple shoot with no reference to a wedding whatsoever? – that’s cool too! drop me a message here
