I’m sure you’ll have lots of questions when planning your wedding, it can be a bit of a minefield! i’ll run through the top Qs i’m often asked below.
—
WHAT AREAS DO YOU COVER? ANY TRAVEL EXPENSES?
I’m based in the heart of Staffordshire but happily travel wherever your big day takes me! I cover most of the UK, and for locations within three hours, there are no travel costs. For longer journeys, there may be a fee, but I try to keep it minimal—just check with me!
—
WHAT’S YOUR PRICING?
You can find my pricing packages here! I also offer the option to add a second photographer for even more coverage or book a pre-wedding shoot if you’d like a little practice in front of the camera before the big day.
—
HOW DO WE BOOK & WHAT’S THE DEPOSIT?
I take a £250 booking fee to secure the date in my diary. If you’re ready to book, I’ll just need a few details from you so I can send over a quote to accept, a contract to sign, and payment details for the booking fee. Everything is handled through my online portal, and it’s really simple! You can check out the step-by-step process for booking in here
—
WHEN ARE FURTHER AND FINAL PAYMENTS DUE?
Once your deposit is paid, your date is secured, and no further payments are required until four months before your wedding. At this point, 50% of the total cost is due. The final balance must then be paid one month before your wedding date.
Your payment schedule will be outlined in the portal when you accept your quote and can be accessed at any time. To ensure peace of mind, I will send payment reminders 14 days before and on the due date.
If you have booked a half-day package, there is only one final payment due one month before your wedding.
—
DO YOU OFFER MIDWEEK PRICING?
No, I don’t. My approach to wedding photography is all about delivering a high-quality service, no matter the day. The work involved—capturing, editing, and curating your wedding story—is the same whether it’s a Tuesday or a Saturday. To maintain a great work-life balance, I make sure to pace my bookings so I’m always fresh, focused, and able to give every couple the exceptional experience they deserve.
—
CAN YOU HOLD THE DATE FOR US?
I’m happy to pencil you in for a week if you need time to finalise things. If someone else enquires about your date, I’ll always drop you an email to let you know. Just remember, the date isn’t yours until the deposit is paid and confirmation is sent over.
—
HOW MANY IMAGES WILL WE GET?
For a full day, you can expect around 500-700 photos, and for a half day, it’s approximately 400-500. I don’t set a limit on the number of photos you’ll receive, but I’ll only deliver images that meet my high standards—nothing less.
—
HOW LONG AFTER DO WE GET THE IMAGES?
Not long at all! You’ll receive a little sneak peek in your inbox within a few days of the wedding (I say sneak peak but its usually around 100 images, sometimes more!), depending on my schedule and whether I’m at other weddings. It’s something to share and enjoy while I prepare your final gallery. The full gallery usually takes around 8-10 weeks during peak season, and 6-8 weeks at other times of the year.
—
WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU GET SICK?
I consider myself fit and healthy, but we all know that sometimes illness can strike unexpectedly. In the unlikely event of something serious, I have a fantastic network of professional wedding photographers (even stronger since COVID) who I can call on to help. Rest assured, I’ll always edit the images in my signature style, no matter what.
—
WHAT’S A PRE-WEDDING SHOOT?
Engagement/pre-wedding sessions are a great way to practice before the big day and a chance for us to meet up and spend an hour or so getting to know each other. We can take a stroll in the woods or visit a location of your choice, capturing some extra, relaxed photos of you both to add to your collection.
—
CAN WE HAVE THE RAW IMAGES?
I’m afraid I don’t provide raw files. My editing process is a big part of the final look and feel of the images, and I want to make sure you get the very best results. However, I’ll deliver a beautiful, fully edited gallery that you’ll love!
—
HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT GROUP SHOTS?
Group shots are important, but the less time we spend on them, the more time I have to capture those natural moments of you and your guests, as well as focus on creating some amazing portraits of you both! I always say 10 is a nice number (15 max). Trust me, after 5, you’ll be ready for it to end—especially if we’re waiting for someone to return from the loo or a key person decides to go for a walk! It always happens.
—
HOW WILL I RECEIVE MY PHOTOS?
Times have definitely changed over the past few years, so all my images are now delivered digitally. You’ll get an online link to your stunning finished gallery, along with a beautiful slideshow that’ll give you all the feels. Plus, there’s a shop where you can order prints, albums, framed items, and much more!
—
DO YOU DO ALBUMS?
Yes, I do! And they’re beautiful. With your final wedding gallery, you’ll have access to a personal shop where you can order not only albums, but also prints, framed items, and so much more. You can create these yourself without needing me to get involved, though I’m always here to offer advice if you need it!
—
DO YOU HAVE INSURANCE?
Yes, I am fully insured with both public liability and professional indemnity insurance. If your venue asks for any documentation, just email me, and I’ll be happy to send it over. Some venues may also ask for a PAT certificate, but since I don’t use any electrical equipment on the day, this isn’t necessary. For your peace of mind, I also have a risk assessment page on my website here.
