I'm James!

I guess this is the page where you find out a bit more about me so you get a nice intro to who I am and if you feel I’m the right photographer for you! After all I’d love to spend one of the biggest days of your life with you so it’s only right we get to know each other as best we can beforehand.

I’m a Staffordshire wedding photographer but I travel to wherever your big day takes me! I’ve been lucky to have photographed amazing weddings all over the UK. I live in Eccleshall a small rural town in the heart of Staffordshire with my wife Hayley and little boy. My background is firmly centred around creativity and previously I worked as a graphic designer for over 17 years and graduated in 2001 with a BA in Graphic Communication. Even at College whilst studying creative design, I have fond memories of learning how to use film in cameras and spending hours in a dark room.

Photography has been in my life for as long as I can remember, in fact my earliest memories include being handed a small plastic film camera on a holiday in Cornwall and taking pictures of my family, something at the time I thought was the coolest thing ever! I took pictures of my everyone, sometimes whilst they weren’t looking. I’m guessing this held me in good stead, as its the thing I pride myself on most, taking natural, candid, ‘moment’ photographs.

These days I mostly photograph weddings, but occasionally love to do engagement/pre-wedding and family photoshoots, alongside corporate work for small and large businesses. I simply love to take photos and I’m very lucky to do what I do! Drop me a quick message if you think we can work together.

In my spare time I enjoy watching sport (big Wolves fan!) but love to get outside and go for walks with my wife and boy in the Staffordshire countryside & visiting National Trust places all over the UK (camera always goes with me) examples of this can usually be found in my Journal as I love to document new places I visit. My photos have been featured numerous times in local newspapers, magazines and national websites. As much as I love visiting places in the UK, I also enjoy taking my camera overseas with my favourite cities being New York, Amsterdam and Berlin.

I also consider myself a bit of a film geek and a week doesn’t usually go by without seeing something new! ..I still hark back to all things 80’s, the music. The fashion and the movies! (the Goonies and Back to the Future are one of my favourite films ever!)

so…… I think that just about covers me! If you have any questions or enquiries, then head to the contact page and drop me a message! I can’t wait to hear from you and hopefully work with you in the future.
