Wedding day notes…

The 13th August 2023 was a hot hot day – 31 degrees celsius to be exact! I arrived nice and early, had a quick scope around as it was my first trip to this amazing venue and the girls were already getting ready in the small farm house next to the venue. Even for 10am it was a hot 25 degrees out!, it’s always lovely when gifts are exchanged on the morning  of a wedding and we took some shade to exchange presents and cards to hugs and tears from everyone.

The great thing about Primrose Hill Farm is everything is very close by to each other so the morning prep was a minutes walk to the main area which allowed me to get all the shots I needed of the wedding breakfast set up and the ceremony room. Ed and the boys arrived donning their Panama hats which were entirely suitable for the hot day ahead! Back to the girls and final touches for Harriet with her dress going on with help from mum. I always like to make time and capture a reveal for bridesmaids and dad as this helps tell a story of the day.

It was around now all the guests were at the venue and I could walk back over to capture people ready to enter the ceremony room. Ed & the boys led everyone in and waiting patiently for Harriet, her dad and the girls to make their way over from the house. This is always a nice natural shot, especially if they don’t know you are going to be there.. I.e hiding behind some foliage!  The ceremony was a beautiful one and confetti in the summer sunshine afterwards absolutely stunning! easily my most favourite part of the day for the reactions and happiness it conveys.

Guests gathered on the huge lawn for a group photo and then drank, sat and enjoyed time together whilst I whisked Harriet and Ed off for some portraits before the wedding breakfast. Now on a hot day, I like to get some shots of the couple before they eat but we mainly utilised the shade as I knew we would get a stunning sun down and plenty of opportunities later on! Harriet and Ed were announced to huge cheers and an amazing meal was had followed by speeches.

A sunset evening…

We were blessed with the most incredible sunset and for both myself and videographer Daniel Yates this was a dream to work with! Someone even commented via my Instagram that the hand in hand shot looked like they were on Mars. Back inside for a cake cut and a pumping dancefloor fully owned by Harriet’s gran Joan who just turned 90! take note everyone, you are never too old to hit the dance floor and end the evening in style!
