Ali & Martin were married at Rowton Castle on the 21st December 2019 – a perfect winters day, full of relaxed fun and laughter from start to finish. Rowton Castle is such a gorgeous venue full of character and grandness! It really is a breath-taking wedding venue just a short distance from Shrewsbury and is among the most romantic and magical castle wedding venues in England. With acres of tranquil grounds, beautiful hotel bedrooms, English countryside, and impeccable service, the 17th Century Grade II* Listed Castle is located in the heart of Shropshire, England and makes for the most perfectly unique wedding day.
The day began with amazing blue skies as I took a little walk around the grounds capturing the initial shots of the venue. I met Ali in her beautiful bridal room around 10.30am to capture classic getting ready shots with her and her team. Martin was getting ready in the main castle bridal suite so I took a quick walk up to see how he was getting on and even managed to capture some getting ready shots of his own.
As guests filled the beautiful Grand hall, Martin waited nervously with his best man & Ali made way from the Orchard Suite, arm in arm with her brother. I have never seen so many smiles and her entrance really was something special.. the doors pull back as a huge smiles filled everyones faces as she made her way to meet Martin. The ceremony was full of poems, fun & laughter! which really does seem to be a main theme to this wedding. It was all so relaxed as the nervousness was brushed aside almost straight away. The happy couple happily made their way outside with me for a little walk around the castle, capturing some gorgeous portrait shots of the two of them, I always aim to keep this as relaxed as possible and hopefully it shows in my photos below.
A traditional confetti shot was followed by all the guests with bubbles and it made for an amazing sight! Of course with it being December and the shortest day by 3.30 the light was fading fast so some quick family shots and it was back inside for drinks and merriment. During the wedding breakfast I was treated to a full Christmas dinner, well earned after my start some 7 hours previous!
Shortly after the emotional speeches the guests were invited outside to an amazing snow machine and sparklers which really captured the fun and atmosphere of this amazing winter wedding! it really was a day filled with fun and laughter, so relaxed and happy. I hope this comes across in my photos below.
Shortly after receiving their wedding photos I received some lovely words from the happy couple!
“We were absolutely delighted with the way James captured our special day. We wanted a very relaxed, informal photographic record of our wedding and James delivered!
There is no doubt James is an excellent photographer and in addition he is a really nice person, so easy to do business with. From the first phone call he immediately filled us with confidence that he would absolutely deliver to our brief. On the day he was calm, professional and took everything in his stride. He was almost invisible when he needed to be which meant he captured those very human and personal moments whilst blending in to our celebration with ease.
He turned our highlight preview album around VERY quickly (no mean feat a couple of days before Christmas) and the final wedding album was outstanding. Thank you James.“
Thank you so much guys! this is the best feedback I could have wished for! It was my pleasure to capture your special day.
