A change of pace for my journal today and a selection of photos from a recent shoot with Roxanne Gooderham, a fine artist based at Wolverhampton Art Gallery’s Makers Dozen studios.
Roxy is part of the The Makers Dozen, and has an art studio situated in the courtyard at the rear entrance of the gallery. These studios are home to thirteen professional, local artists and designer-makers and their work ranges from glassblowing to painting and textiles to Photography – a brilliant mix of local talents!
I dropped by on a Saturday morning to capture a flavour of Roxanne’s studio, see her at work and create a rage of photos to be used on her new website and across her social media.
I always love to work with & photograph local and such talented people and Roxy is just this! she produces careful, detailed amazing studies but also uses her imagination to create much looser artworks filled with dramatic atmosphere. She works in a variety of media including oil, watercolour, pen, pencil, charcoal and pastel. She undertakes animal portraits both in pencil and paint and is always willing to take on other subjects as commissions! for more info on this, and to see more of her amazing work, go visit her website – oh and find her on facebook here too!
