Eccleshall, our quiet town in the middle of a pandemic

What a strange time we are living in at the moment, our roads and streets are quieter, we are queueing to get into supermarkets and we’re only really allowed out for an hour a day to go for a walk or a run or get some supplies. As a wedding photographer, and I’m the same as everyone in this industry, this whole situation has hit hard. My wedding season should of started in February at Aston Marina, it turned out to be a glorious day.. all rather gutting for everyone involved. Thankfully, I have managed to re-book all of my couples in for later this year and into next so it’s being managed the best we can. I’m also booking new weddings for later this year and into next so it’s amazing to feel the love and positivity that’s out there.

The other day I took my camera out with me for the first time since all of this started to happen. I felt the need to document my surroundings, our quiet streets, the notices on business doors, the rainbows in the windows.. it really is a surreal sight to see as we venture out on our daily walks, often bumping into the same people and saying hello to people you’ve really said hello to before or, let’s be honest probably wouldn’t we weren’t in this horrible situation. It’s brought our community together that’s for sure, every Thursday, and this has grown week by week but the clapping and banging of pots at 8pm just emphasises that everyone of us is in this together.

These photos have had such a positive response from the people of Eccleshall and when posted in local Facebook groups  some of the comments were as follows..

“Beautiful photos, reminder of just how lucky I am to call Eccleshall ‘home'”

“Those are some lovely photos I don’t think the roads and streets of Eccleshall have been so quiet in such a long time. Stay safe”

“Beautiful photographs. Makes me feel proud to have lived in such a lovely place for 40 years.”

“Brought a lump to my throat, Happy time in my life living in Eccleshall”

When you stop, think, and get a little down about what’s happening at the moment, just remember. We’ll be back. The Kings Arms in Eccleshall has it right (their photo is below) WE’RE IN THIS TOGETHER. STAY STONG.
